Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has banned tricycle and shuttle bus unions in the state. The governor stated this in a press release by the state Commissioner for Information, Mr. Paul Nwosu in Awka, the Anambra State capital yesterday.
On Thursday and Friday last week witnessed massive protests by tricycle and bus operators in Awka, who had complained about the N15,000 and N20,000 monthly tax imposed on them by government.
But the state government in its reaction to the protest said the union and touts masquerading as revenue agent were misleading and over taxing the operators.
