One of Nigeria’s hottest artists, Wizkid has dropped a new docuseries entitled A Superstar Made in Lagos to commemorate the tenth anniversary of his debut album Superstar.
“A Superstar Made in Lagos” celebrates the 10 year anniversary of Wizkid’s debut album – “Superstar”. This docuseries features reflections from the artist himself, and some of his peers and mentors. The docuseries was shot and directed by JM Films.
The series sees Wizkid talk about the impact that the album had on his career and he offers some retrospective reflections on his time making the project and the significance of it in his career trajectory.
Released in one clip and supported by breakout interviews, the A Superstar Made in Lagos docuseries sees appearances from Femi Kuti, Uche Pedro, Ali Baba, Anthony Joshua and more.

The Wizkid Journey
Wizkid started recording music at the age of 11 and released a collaborative album with the Glorious Five, a group he and a couple of his church friends formed. His first album, ‘Superstar’, came in 2011.
He signed with Empire Mates Entertainment (EME) in 2009 and rose to prominence with ‘Holla at Your Boy’, one of the tracks on the album. In 2016, he got global recognition for ‘One Dance’, his collaboration with Drake, a Canadian rapper.
He won his first-ever Grammy award last March for his role in ‘Brown Skin Girl’, a song by Beyonce.
Superstar – A music album by Wizkid
Superstar is the debut studio album by the Nigerian singer. It was released by Empire Mates Entertainment on June 12, 2011. It is the best selling afrobeat album, selling over five millions copies in 2011-2012 [1] The album’s production was handled by Samklef, E-Kelly, Jay Sleek, Shizzi, DJ Klem, Masterkraft, Q-Beats, Banky W and Vebee.[2] It features collaborations with Wande Coal, D’Prince, Banky W and Skales. The album was supported by the singles “Holla at Your Boy“, “Tease Me/Bad Guys“, “Don’t Dull“, “Love My Baby”, “Pakurumo”, and “Oluwa Lo Ni”. It is the second best selling album on NotJustOk and was the most highly anticipated Nigerian album of 2011.
