Traditional 4 within the Dunukofia Local Government Area have urged residents of the council area to get their Permanent Voters Cards ahead of the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
The Traditional Ruler of Umunnachi community in the council area, Igwe Ben Anochie, who spoke on behalf of Traditional Rulers of five other Communities in the council area, made the plea during a press briefing in Awka.
The Traditional Ruler spoke on the sidelines of the forthcoming Dunukofia New Yam festival and New Year Declaration, otherwise known in Igbo language as ‘Orira Awamji/ Igu Aro Dunukofia’ coming up on Friday, September 23rd, 2022.
On the forthcoming New Yam festival/New Year Declaration, the Traditional Ruler said that the occasion would be used to discuss extensively on the need for residents to embrace agriculture and will equally discuss on modern agricultural and agronomy practices that guarantee good and better yields as their people go to farm to stem the high cost of food in the markets.
