NYSC Seeks Collaboration With Anambra State Govt On Skill Acquisition For Corps Members

Mrs. Christy Uba, Acting Director General of the NYSC National Youth Service Corps, sought to work with the Anambra State Government to train the Corps members in various skills, making this statement during a courtesy call on the Anambra State Governor’s wife Nonye Soludo at the Governor’s Residence in Amabia.
Mrs Uba, from Anambra State, said she was committed to bringing the project home as her own contribution to the development of the state’s human capital, adding that Governor Chukwuma Soludo secured a loan by supporting the project to provide the general youth development policy articulated, starting with Anambra State.
In response, Mrs Soludo congratulated Msr Uba on her recent appointment and said the state was already planning a large skills acquisition center, adding that a partnership with NYSC would enable the eventual launch and growth of these centers. She further stated that the training centers, when completed, will train about five thousand youths in different skills , enhance their productivity, make them self-reliant and employers of labour.
