According to forecasts from the Nigerian Meteorological Service, river communities in Anambra state have been advised to remain vigilant and prepare for the year’s floods progress.
Anambra State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and Nigeria Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) provided advice during advocacy visits to Ayamelum, Anambra East and West parliamentary areas.
The NEMA and SEMA advocacy visits were in fulfillment of the Nigerian Meteorological Service’s mission to provide residents in flood-prone areas with vital meteorological information to minimise the adverse effects of the disaster, and to urge people to learn from existing events and always keep their environment clean.
