How to register with INEC for PVC as a new voter

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) resumed the registration of voters on Monday, June 28, 2021.

The Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) exercise was paused months to the 2019 general elections, and will be will be carried out until September 2022.

 

Nigerians who are 18 years old and above are eligible to register to vote.

 

The registration process is in stages.

Only online registration has commenced on June 28, with registrants encouraged to start the registration process at https://cvr.inecnigeria.org.

They will then make an appointment on the date and time to visit an INEC State or Local Government Area office to physically complete registration.

The physical registration for online registrants will not commence until July 19.

Online registration is free of charge, and can be done on an internet-enabled mobile phone.

Meanwhile, INEC Chairman, Prof Mahmood Yakubu announced the 2023 General Election will hold on Saturday 18th February 2023 and hoped to release the Timetable and Schedule of Activities for the General Election immediately after the Anambra Governorship election scheduled to hold on 6th November 2021.
